The HCG Diet plan is a “weight loss” and “fat loss” diet. There are certain fruits that are recommended in this diet simply because, not only do other fruits have higher sugar content, they also have more calories. When fruits are digested they are broken down into fructose (a very sweet sugar found in fruits) which is then sent to the liver. The liver then coordinates how the body uses the dietary sugars. When the liver encounters glucose, it decides whether the body needs to store it, burn it for energy or turn it into triglycerides. But when fructose enters the body, it bypasses the process and ends up being quickly converted to body fat. The hCG will attack this fat before attacking our stored fat.
Veggies on the other hand contain carbohydrates, some more so than others. Since carbohydrates are the easy to burn, our bodies will burn them before burning our stored fat–even if we are taking HCG. Eating fruits and Veggies that are not included in the HCG diet plan can result in slower weight loss or even no weight loss at all.
