HCG Diet
Higher Calorie HCG Diet
Could it be that you can lose weight on a higher calorie HCG diet?! According to Dr. Daniel Koontz, you can! And our own research has shown that test subjects lose weight and keep it off, even on 1200 to 1800 calorie diets.
“One of my customers is a construction worker who is very active. He ate 1800 calories a day, while taking HCG EZ Drops, and lost half a pound a day.” Says Darren Freeman, an HCG EZ Drops distributor. “We had another guy do 1200 calories at the same time, and he lost closer to 3/4 of a pound a day.”
So, there you have it. More calories, less weight loss, but hey, half a pound a day still beats every other weight loss method silly! So if you’re interested in sublingual HCG drops, but worried about the 500 calorie diet, give it a shot on a higher calorie protocol, you can still lose weight fast and keep it off!
New Years Resolutions?
Did you make a goal this year to lose weight with the HCG Diet? With the start of a new year comes the tradition of New Years Resolutions. People all over the world are making goals – losing weight is the number one! The HCG Diet is a surefire way for you to reach your goal!
5 Ways to Keep your HCG Diet New Years Resolution
1. Get Rid of Temptations – The holidays brought so many goodies. The best way to stick to the HCG diet is to get rid of ALL the foods that tempt you or (if possible) that are not allowed on the HCG protocol. If you don’t have junk food staring you in the face you won’t be tempted to cheat and eat it!
2. Carry A Before Picture of Yourself – They say a picture is worth a 1000 words. We recommend taking a picture of yourself when you start your HCG Diet. Carry this photo around with you. When you are tempted to eat off protocol or are feeling weak pull that picture out. A visual reminder of why you are on the HCG diet is sometimes all you need!
3. Express Yourself – This may sound silly but it works. Write yourself notes and place them around your house or office. “Stay Strong” ,”I Am Healthy”, “I Can DO This” Post your goals and/or your progress on our Facebook Fan page. We want to hear about your HCG journey, and others do too!
4. Get An HCG Buddy – Find a friend who will go on the HCG Diet with you. Post a comment on our Facebook Fan page asking someone to be your HCG Diet Buddy. Having extra support and encouragement can do wonders for your will power.
5. Stay Busy – How many of us eat out of boredom? Occupy your time and you will increase your chances of HCG Diet Success.
I hope these tips help you keep your HCG Diet Resolutions! Here’s to better health!

Water on the HCG Diet
We have all heard how important it is to drink water. Water is an essential part of our bodily functions, especially during the HCG diet. If you don’t drink enough water while on the HCG diet your body will think that it is in a drought and retain water. We all know what happens when we retain water, we become bloated. NOT the look or feel we want when trying to lose weight! Drinking plenty of water will signal your body to flush out extra fluids. You MUST drink water on the HCG diet to help weight loss!
Water is also important for proper kidney function. When your kidneys are not functioning properly they receive assistance from your liver. One of the liver’s function is to metabolize fat. Therefore, when your liver is helping your kidneys, your fat metabolism process is less efficient and less productive.
We should strive to make sure that the processes in our bodies are working as efficiently as possible so we see the benefit from our work. This is why it is so important to drink water to help weight loss – to keep our fat metabolizing process running as efficiently as possible.
Water also acts a a great appetite suppressant, Water fills up your stomach and curbs hunger, leaving less room for food and causing you to feel full sooner. Drinking water with your meal will help you to eat less and will help with calorie reduction.
So, how much water should you be drinking each day? Ask 10 different people and you will get 10 different answers! The most common recommendations is drink between 8 and 10 glasses of water per day. Great – but how bis is that glass?
The answer is that it depends. The more you weigh – the more water you need to drink!
In order to lose weight, every day you should consume between 0.5 and 0.64 ounces of water per pound of lean body weight. Therefore, if you are going to drink 0.64 ounces of water per pound of lean body mass, use the following formula:
As you can see, a person that has 200 pounds of lean body mass should drink 128 ounces, or 1 gallon, of water. This equals 8 – 16 ounce glasses of water.
Vegetarian HCG Diet
I have received phone calls asking if the HCG diet can be modified to fit a vegetarian lifestyle. The answer is YES! Although Dr Simeons original HCG protocol calls for 3.5 oz of animal protein 2 a day substitutions can be made. Below is a breakdown of recommended vegetarian substitutions:
- 2 c. skim milk
- 1 whole egg with the whites of 3 additional eggs cooked boiled or poached
- 1/2 c. fat-free cottage cheese
- 1/2 c. non-fat yogurt (make sure it has no sugar added)
- Protein powders such as hemp, whey, or rice mixed with water
Vegetarian dieters may experience slower weight loss than those of the meat-eaters following the HCG diet. Stay the course and the weight will come off. It is important to take vitamin and mineral supplements while following the HCG weight loss plan. When you are on such a limited calorie diet such as the HCG diet, taking a vitamin and mineral supplement helps to ensure that you are getting all of the nutrients you need.

HCG Holiday Tips
Happy Holidays Everyone!
We congratulate those of you who are remaining steadfast to your HCG diet through the holidays. It shows your
determination, fortitude and sheer willpower to stay on the HCG diet being surrounded by the temptations of the season.
To help I thought I would share helpful HCG holiday dieting tips.
Phase 2 (500 calorie diet)
* Keep apples slices sprinkled with cinnamon for a go to ready snack if you get hungry.
* Sip sparkling water while at parties – DO NOT drink alcohol
* Make a chicken apple stuffing as for special holiday meal – (chopped apple, sage, onion, garlic power, chicken broth, 1 crushed melba toast.)
* Don’t cheat. We all know cheating will show upon the scale. Is it really worth it? If you know you are going to cheat plan an interruption.
Although not recommended, it is possible to do a planned interruption on P2 where you stop your HCG drops 72 hours in
advance and start again the next day. You WILL lose several days of weight loss and probably gain some weight back, but
if you don’t want to miss a special event plan ahead.
Phase 3 (maintenance)
This is the phase where you must avoid sugar and starches. P3 is the time when your body’s metabolism resets itself so
it is critical that you stay true to the diet. With a little creativity you can find ways to enjoy most of your favorite holiday favorites
without the starch and sugar.
* Bring your own P3 friendly dishes to family gatherings. Turkey is allowed so bring the apple stuffing mentioned above or mashed cheddar cauliflower.
* Make a creamy fruit salad with whipping cream sweetened with stevia and vanilla.
* If enjoying a glass of wine or cocktail avoid sweet mixers and choose sparkling water and lemon or low sugar juices.
* Make P3 hors d’oeuvres like celery sticks with cream cheese filling or turkey/cheese/olive wraps. Be creative!
Remember, the holidays are a time to celebrate spending time with family and friends. Concentrate on that instead of food… you will be glad that you did!
HCG Diet Myths
You have probably heard about the supposed HCG diet dangers. These dangers are myths. The HCG diet works safely if followed correctly as Dr. Simeons explained in his book “Pounds and Inches.” The HCG not only diet works you get fast results!
Here are the most common myths:
Myth 1: It is unsafe to only consume 500 calories.
All weight loss diets are based on consuming fewer calories. The goal of a diet is to eat fewer calories than you burn during the day. When your body burns the calories it consumes then it turns to stored fat which results in weight loss. A typical weight loss diet caloric intake is between 1000-2000. Lowering that down to 500 may seem to low, but it is not. By using the HCG hormone your body will release stored fat to be use for energy to make up the difference, thus resulting in rapid weight loss.
Myth 2: The HCG drops are un-necessary and un-safe.
The HCG drops are absoutely necessary for the diet to work. Once you begin the diet you will be consuming only 500 calories, up to have what your normally eat. But even though you are only eating 500 calories you are actually burning anywhere from 1500-4000 calories a day! The HCG drops helps your body release the stored fat to be used as energy to support daily activity. HCG also helps supress your appitite so that you are not hungry throughout the day. If you have every experience hunger pangs you know how that can affect any diet and how likely you are to eat when you should not. The diet 500 calorie simply can not be done without the drops.
Myth 3: Any diet that does not require exercise is unhealthy or unsafe.
Once again there has not been any proof that this diet is unhealthy or unsafe, but it needs to be done according to Dr. Simeons’ protocol. 500 calories is a very low amount of calories for people who are not used to it, and exercising will burn those calories too fast. This could cause you to become excessively fatigued or light headed. For people who already had an established fitness routine found that they could continue with light to moderate walking while on the HCG diet.
The people who make the claims that the HCG diet is unsafe have simply not done their research. HCG is a legitimate weight loss plan. Now that these myths have been debunked, you can rest assured that this diet plan is a healthy and there are no HCG diet dangers.
HCG Diet
There has been some confusion on how much is 10 drops of the HCG drops when dropping them under your tongue. Well, yesterday I counted out and measured them to make it a little easier for you! 10 HCG EZDrops equals 1/4 dropper full of liquid. This should take the guess work out of trying to drop the HCG liquid into your mouth or getting too much or too little HCG. As always, if you have questions, comments or concerns please feel free to lets us know! We are committed to your success!
What can you do if you are hungry on HCG diet?
Recently I’ve gotten quite a few phone calls asking what to do if you are hungry while on the weight loss phase (Phase 2) of the HCG diet. I did a little research into this as I didn’t experience any hunger while I was the diet protocol.
When I first read about the HCG diet protocol I thought I would experience extreme hunger pains. After all, you are only eating 500 calories! But the HCG hormone boosts your metabolism so that you are not only NOT hungry there are times when I found myself having to practically choke down my apple or “remember” to eat my chicken and cucumbers! So let me give you a few helpful hints on what things may cause you to be hungry on the HCG diet and what you can do about it if you are.
One of the reasons you may be experiencing hunger is that you didn’t load properly. The first two days of the HCG diet protocol are loading days. You were to eat as much high fat foods as possible. This was extremely important as it was preparing your body for the very low calorie portion of the diet. If you didn’t load properly you may experience hunger for up to 4 – 5 days. Stick to the HCG diet! Drink plenty of water.
Another reason for you may be overly hungry is because you have reached what Dr Simeons calls “Immunity.” Basically your body learns how to breakdown and eliminate the HCG Hormone very rapidly. Or, you might be nearing your goal weight and your body simply doesn’t have enough abnormal weight left to burn off. Your body maybe have reached a new metabolic set point with your weight. If you feel you have reached immunity you should wean off the diet and go to Phase 3. (Read Pounds and Inches for the procedure.)
So, what can you do if you are hungry on HCG diet? Drinking lots of water throughout the day will really help. There are some great herbal teas that can help as well and make you feel full.
Try spacing your meals out. Eat a piece of fruit early in the day. Protein and vegetable for lunch, protein and vegetable for dinner, and a fruit for an evening snack. Again, lots of water and tea in between. Another trick is to easy some extra vegetables. Dr Simeons didn’t put a real limit on vegetables so if you wanted to add some extra cabbage to your entree that shouldn’t take you over the 500 calorie limit.
Try to determine if you are experiencing real hunger or a food craving. The results of this diet when followed correctly are pretty amazing so stick it out!
Best of luck to all of you!!
Can I drink alcoholic beverages while on the HCG diet?
I have been getting a lot of questions about alcoholic beverages and the HCG diet. Let me address that now. NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE ALLOWED! No hard alochol, beer, or wine. That include light beer. The reason is that when alcohol is digested in your body it is convertered to pure sugar. There is NO SUGAR allowed on the HCG diet. The only liquid you should be drinking while on the HCG diet is water, herbal tea and coffee or tea in the morning. I hope this clears up some confusion.
Where to buy Grissini Breadsticks
I have had many people emailing me asking where to buy Grissini Breadsticks. They are hard to find! Some health food stores carry them. I did some research and found them online at http://www.amazon.com/Granforno-Grissini-Breadsticks-Torino-3-5-Ounce/dp…. You may also have Melba toast. Most grocery stores carry Melba toast. Happy weight loss!!
Shrimp in Tomato Sauce Recipe
Last night I made the yummiest dinner… and my entire family enjoyed it! I thought I’d share it with you! You will find that cooking on the HCG diet plan can be done for your whole family! Just make sure you watch your spices that they have NO carbs!
Shrimp In Tomato Sauce
- 3.5 oz Shrimp – cleaned
- 1 large or 2 small tomatoes
- 1/4 tsp garlic salt
- 1/4 tsp onion salt
- 1/4 tsp Italian Seasoning (make sure it has 0 carbs)

In another pan sautee the Shrimp (use a little Pam) until pink. Add the shrimp to the tomato sauce or spoon the sauce over the shrimp. Yummy!!
HCG Diet Plan Overview
HCG Diet Plan Overview
The HCG diet plan is simple. Obviously the most important component to the HCG diet plan is the HCG drops. The HCG hormone drops allows your body to turn excess body fat into available calories. The HCG diet plan is broken down into three phases. Phase One is the loading or gorging phase, Phase Two is the weight loss phase and Phase Three is the Stabilization or Maintenance phase.
Phase One Loading or Gorging– Day 1& 2. Take the HCG drops and force feed by loading up on high fat foods. ‘Force Feed” or more simply, eat normally and add high fatty foods such as ice cream, fried meats (pork meats especially), doughnuts, chips, milk, chocolate, mayo, breads with thick butter. This is a very important step in the diet plan for it prepares the body for the weight reduction program. The concentrated amounts of fats are needed to ensure your normal fat reserves are reasonably well stocked. Your body will be using these fat reserves during the weight loss phase. This also allows time for the HCG to take effect and cut your appetite so that you may bypass the possibility of suffering from hunger pains.
Phase Two Weight Loss- Days 3-40. Take the HCG drops and follow a 500 calorie food plan for up to 40 days. It is at this point that you must adhere to the prescribed program without deviation. Consuming more food that the HCG diet plan allows or consuming foods that are not on the diet plan will only result in an immediate weight gain.
Fluids are an important part of HCG diet plan. You must drink a minimum of 100-120 ounces of water daily. This is approximately ten 10 oz glasses. NOT DRINKING THE PROPER AMOUNT OF WATER WILL INHIBIT YOUR WEIGHT LOSS, POSSIBLY EVEN ENCOURAGE A WEIGHT GAIN.
You will be consuming two meals a day. Lunch consisting of 3.5 oz of approved protein, one type of vegetable to be chosen from the approved list, a breadstick (Grissino brand) or one Melba toast, and a piece of fruit from the approved list.
Phase Three Stabilization or Maintenance– 3 weeks. After completing the HCG diet plan it is important to restrict starches and sugars for three weeks. Feel free to eat as much of the foods on the approved list as you want. After three weeks start slowly adding starches and sugars back into your diet. Weigh yourself every day and if a 2 lbs. or more weight gain is notice then skip breakfast and lunch the following day.

The Issue Of Cosmetics, Lotions And Oils
When you read Dr. Simeons original book “Pounds And Inches,” you learn that he sincerely believed that cosmetics, lotions and oils could keep people from losing as much weight as they should while on the HCGdiet protocol.
Luckily, while he was right about a lot of things, recent research proves that these products have no effect on weight loss. You can use them freely while on the Dr. Simeons HCG diet, with no negative effects!
