Some HCG users have asked if it is ok to go beyond the 40 days cycle. This is not recommended. The protocol states a minimum of 21 days and a maximum of 40 days and should be followed by Phase 3 which is the stabilization phase. It is essential to do P3 & P4 after 40 days of taking hcg and being on the VLCD. Your body and mind need a break. After phase 2, you need to take a break so to avoid the sagging of skin and to rebuild the body’s nutritional stock piles. This is also the time where your mind resets your typical body weight. The goal of phase 3 is to maintain your new weight, and not to shed more, same with the transition phase or Phase 4 where you slowly introduce other healthy foods in the diet and eat normally but should be able to maintain your new weight with the help of some exercise. According to Dr.Simeons,“It takes about 3 weeks before the weight reached at the end of the treatment becomes stable.” If you feel that you have not reached your goal yet, don’t stress it, you can do another round after 6 weeks.
