HCG Diet Plan
Choosing a diet to lose weight these days can be confusing and stressful. There are so many options and everybody and their dog has an opinion on which diets are the best. Here are 5 reasons why the HCG Diet is the best diet out there:
1. It Works. This may seem like a silly number one reason, but in all seriousness I have never found a diet that works better. I have talked to people who half heartedly went about the diet and even cheated sometimes, who still lost 10 lbs!
2. The diet is only 21 days. You only have to do the diet for 21 days, then your “standard weight” is reset and you can go back to your normal eating habits!
3. Exercise? DON’T! While you are on HCG exercise is actually discouraged! All that is allowed is 30 minutes of walking and/or light yoga
4. HCG helps you develop healthy eating habits. After the diet most of our dieters find tasty, healthy foods that they prefer to junk food they were eating before! It trains your body to crave what it actually needs.
5. Lose TONS of weight FAST. On average, dieters lose between 20-30 lbs per 21 day cycle. On top of this, you can repeat the diet as many times as you would like till you reach your weight loss goals!
The HCG Diet has a minimal list of foods allowed and finding foods low in calories can become an issue. This very low calorie diet in combination with HCG Drops can help you lose you pounds and inches in just a very short time. Many dieters find it amazing and easy compared to years of rigid diets and work outs.
Since the food is shortlisted, sometimes dieters can get confused about what food to eat and how many calories those foods have. Listed below are foods that are low in calories but will fill your tummy, and aid your weight loss goals:
- Celery- 19 calories @ 1 cup
- Lettuce- 8 calories @ 1cup
- Cucumber/pickles- 16 calories @ 1 cup

Maintenance Phase is important because this phase involves stabilizing your metabolism at your new weight. All the phases in HCG have their role to play in achieving your weight loss goal and are relevant to each other. For the maintenance phase your metabolism is reset to your new weight so that your body does not fluctuate up or down like it does with most diets do. If you still need to lose more weight you can do another round of HCG once all the phases are completed
During this stage you can add weight loss supplements in such as HCG Maintenance. When you burn fat cells with stored nutrients you need to supply your body with vitamins and minerals to function properly. There are supplements you can find here.
You may need a supplement to support everything from your skin and hair to your brain. Taking a supplement is an easy way to meet your body’s needs and to help curb unnecessary cravings for fatty foods which usually occurs when your body lacks these nutrients. You may also ask your primary physician what vitamins your body is in need of.
Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited during HCG drops diet plan, especially during the LCD Period. It is the period where most of the weight is lost and it is also the strictest stage. There is a short list of the food allowed on this phase, however, there are so many recipes you can try using the short list. Once you get to move on to the maintenance phase, you won’t be losing anymore weight and some foods are slowly introduced.
HCG phase 3 has 2 parts and there is a new list of foods that are allowed in this phase. The first 3 weeks, new foods can slowly be introduced but no still sugar and starch are allowed. On the fourth week of the maintenance phase alcohol can now slowly be introduced back to the body but only in moderation.
Always keep in mind that you will not be allowed any alcohol during the HCG drops diet protocol until week four of the diet. Follow the rules religiously and you will be successful in losing weight. Also, drink responsibly and in moderation. Large amounts of alcohol is not good for weight maintenance!
Now that you are done with Phase 2 and Phase 3, you need to realize the importance of living heathy. Phase 4 is critical because this is where it is up to you to keep off the weight you have lost.
Listed below are the foods that should be avoided on Phase 4:
- White bread and any bread with white flour as an ingredient
- Pasta, unless whole grain
- White rice
- White flour, any products made with it such as cake, cookies, crackers, pretzels, doughnuts, bagels, and muffins
- Potatoes and potato chips
White sugar should be avoided because white sugar in excess can make you gain weight. It does not contain any nutrients, minerals or enzyme. A teaspoon of sugar has been shown to suppress the immune system by 50% for four hours.
White flour is highly processed and refined leaving its original goodness empty and during the digestion process it is very quickly converted to sugar in the body. This will cause the insulin levels of your body and trigger your body to store fat. It is not easily digested which can lead to all kinds of inflammation in your digestive system because it sticks in your stomach making you feeling bloated.
Table salt does not contain sea minerals and will increase your blood pressure. There are other faces of sodium added to food, but not always in the form of salt. Common food additives, such as baking soda, some preservatives, and mono sodium glutamate (MSG) also contribute to the total amount of sodium we consume. Potassium intake should be increased to offset the adverse effect that sodium has on blood pressure. It is best to eat fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables.
Here is a list of foods that contain a lot of salt: bacon, cheese, pickles, green olives, salted nuts, ketchup, mustard, salad dressing, potato chips, popcorn, and baking powder.
Dairy Products such as milk has been known as a healthy food but what we consume has been pasteurized in order to remove bacteria and increase shelf life. When you pasteurize the milk you also kill all the enzymes in the food that are needed to break down and digest that food. The foods that are not properly digested now sits in your stomach which will lead to health issues.
Use this knowledge to keep the weight you have worked so hard to lose, off forever.
Recently, a study was done by the Nutrition and Metabolic Research Center at Scripps Clinic, which found that adding grapefruit and grapefruit juice to one’s diet can result in weight loss! Sounds like a good pair for HCG drops diet plan, right?
Grapefruits are high in fiber and low in calories which makes for a killer weight loss combo. As a matter of fact Grapefruits are rated #2 highest in fiber of the top 20 consumed fruits and vegetables. Citrus fruits help curb your appetite and keep you from overeating. Also, They can help balance your pH levels.
Dr. Ken Fujioka, principal researcher at the Nutrition and Metabolic Research Center at Scripps conducted a study where dieters were assigned to either eat half a grapefruit with each meal, or drink a serving of grapefruit juice 3 times per day. On average the dieters lost 3.5 lbs just from adding this simple dose of grapefruit; some even lost over 10 lbs!
Grapefruits make for a great snack while you are trying to lose weight. Next time you find yourself reaching for a bag of chips or a candy bar, get a grapefruit instead! Remember, it’s the little things that make the difference!
After the HCG program you can eat whatever you want. However many dieters have discover that they are now used to eating more healthy and balanced choices. Some continue to use the recipes and find they are happier eating diet friendly recipes. It’s a natural result of making good choices for the duration of the program.
HCG dieters become used to paying better attention to the ingredients and nutrition information on food labels, this is a very good indication that their lives are starting to become better and healthier. Once you’re used to it, it becomes easy to avoid foods with unhealthy sugars, oils, or fats added, this is a very healthy habit. This can have long-lasting beneficial effects on your diet and overall health.
After the HCG weight loss program people get used to eating a good balance of foods, like for instance; people who were not used to eating vegetables and fruit automatically add appropriate portions of veggies and fruit to every meal. Instead on munching on junk foods for snacks, some people find that fruit and vegetable snacks have become a tasty replacement for sweets and fats and carry on this habit for the rest of their lives.
The loading days are absolutely necessary for a successful HCG diet program. This is stressed by Dr. Simeons in his Book Pounds and Inches. These 2 loading days should not be skipped! Dieters must eat as much fatty food as possible during the two loading days to enable their bodies to stock enough fat reserves for the VLCD (Very low calorie diet) and jump start the body metabolism. Proper loading days are beneficial to helping dieters decrease hunger pains when they start the 500 calories diet subsequently.
Many dieters may not understand why they have to eat fat in order to lose weight. The phases of HCG have been tested again and again and this is the way the diet works best! If loading days are not followed as specified, the consequence can be hunger pains and discomfort while on the diet. In fact many dieters are surprised to find out they don’t gain weight and some even lose, because of the direct action of HCG and high-protein intake when they do the loading phase.
Some HCG users have asked if it is ok to go beyond the 40 days cycle. This is not recommended. The protocol states a minimum of 21 days and a maximum of 40 days and should be followed by Phase 3 which is the stabilization phase. It is essential to do P3 & P4 after 40 days of taking hcg and being on the VLCD. Your body and mind need a break. After phase 2, you need to take a break so to avoid the sagging of skin and to rebuild the body’s nutritional stock piles. This is also the time where your mind resets your typical body weight. The goal of phase 3 is to maintain your new weight, and not to shed more, same with the transition phase or Phase 4 where you slowly introduce other healthy foods in the diet and eat normally but should be able to maintain your new weight with the help of some exercise. According to Dr.Simeons,“It takes about 3 weeks before the weight reached at the end of the treatment becomes stable.” If you feel that you have not reached your goal yet, don’t stress it, you can do another round after 6 weeks.
