After starting your period while using oral HCG drops stop taking the HCG drops and continue with the 800 or 1200 calorie diet. Don’t forget to weigh yourself every morning. As soon as your period is over resume taking the oral HCG drops. A woman’s body manufactures HCG at the onset of her monthly cycle, so it is not necessary to take drops during this time.
Here’s a few tips about this:
1. If you stall or even have a slight weight gain during this time, DON’T PANIC, this is quite normal. Every woman on their monthly period may experience slight weight gain during this time. It is often due simply to water retention.
2. Carry on the best you can with the diet. Do not give up for a couple of days or cheat, which could actually cause a “real” weight gain.
3. Keep drinking plenty of water, half your bodyweight in ounces. It may seem counter-intuitive that water retention is more likely during menstruation, so we encourage more water… but this isn’t the case. Drink plenty of water just as you should during the whole diet. The water weight will fall off and you will continue on your way!
