Phase 2 calories are so limited that even fruits need to be carefully chosen and measured. Fruits approved for the HCG diet include strawberries, grapefruit, apples and oranges. Apples range between 55 and 110 calories, depending on the size. The average sized orange contains 65 to 70 calories, 1 cup of strawberries has 50 calories and a grapefruit has about 70 to 90 calories. So if you are doing the VLCD take note of this.
Only one serving of fruit per day is allowed while on HCG phase 1. You may increase to 2 servings in HCG phase 2 and 3 servings on HCG phase 3. Fruit choices include apples, strawberries, oranges and grapefruit.
Fruit servings should not be combined in one setting but spread throughout the day. For example, eat 1/2 for breakfast, 1/2 for a mid-morning snack, another 1/2 during lunch, 1/2 cup strawberries for dinner or an evening snack.
